Today’s tasty post comes to you from one of my fabulous sponsors, Amber! She blogs over at My Three Bittles, and you can also find her on Twitter. Be sure to go say hi after checking out her post below!
Today I’m gonna share with you a favorite of ours, PUFF BALLS! Also known as a ghetto version of doughnuts.
I prefer to call them puff balls because they really aren’t doughnuts.
Anyway, you’ll need some biscuits, cinnamon, sugar, oil and a cookie cutter of some sort.
- Cut shapes out of the biscuits. (I used cookie cutter shapes – hearts, stars, clovers, apples – because I knew the bittles would love it)
- Pour enough oil into bottom of skillet to cover bottom plus a bit. (enough to cover biscuits about halfway when they’re added)
- Heat oil to medium.
- While the oil is heating, mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
- Pop in the dough in the oil.
- Cook on each side til golden brown.
- Pull out and place on cooling rack (or plate with paper towel, or whatever you have handy really) to let the oil dry off.
- Toss warm into cinnamon mix and coat.
- Serve and enjoy.
Thanks, Amber! Don’t those look so easy and yummy? I love that you can use the cut-outs themselves AND the pieces they were cut out from for some fun donut variety.
Today I want to introduce you to Mia, one of my super cool sponsors for this month and a fellow Austinite (at least sometimes)! Come get to know her. 🙂 Mia Moore Come say hi: Blog | Twitter Hi everyone! My name is Mia and I blog over at my personal domain, www.miamoore.net. I mostly talk about DIY projects, what I’ve been wearing, what I’ve been up to, and my hobbies, like hooping and cosplay! I’m a senior in college studying Digital Media Marketing — basically, I’m very passionate about social media and how it can shape a company. […]
This past month I participated in the Summer Time Arm Party gift swap hosted by Leonora & Ilene, and it might have been the most fun I’ve had doing a swap to date. 🙂 As the name of the swap would suggest, this swap was all about bracelets. When you signed up, you had to include some favorite colors and your wrist size, and then the two hosts paired everyone up. The idea was to make a bracelet for your swap partner – using any DIY method you wanted, or even making more than one. If your crafty efforts fell […]

The Dressmaker by Kate Alcott This was another random pick from the new fiction section at the library, and overall I was satisfied with it. It follows the story of Tess, a young Englishwoman who wants to be a dressmaker. She lands a job as personal maid to a famous couture designer, and they set off across the Atlantic for a fashion show in New York – on the Titanic. Yeah. What follows is an interesting account of the sinking of the ship itself, and the official American inquiry into the disaster after. With, of course, a healthy dose of […]
Well, I had a group sponsor intro post slotted for today, but then a crazy thing happened – not a single ONE of my medium sponsors returned the questionnaire thing I sent out. Not a one! A bit flabbergasted and now lacking a post for today, I thought it’d still be good to showcase those sponsors in some way, even if wasn’t the cool intro feature I normally do. So today, I’ve giving you a link round-up of my favorite posts on my medium sponsors’ sites. Most What Matters: Check out Music Muse Tuesday for some new tunes. The […]
Please excuse the vaunted post title, but I’m feeling quite queenly today. And not just because purple is the color of royalty. I’m feeling like queen of my sewing machine because I made this dress!!! I know – quite the step up from making pillows. At the beginning of the month, Alyx posted an outfit featuring a maxi dress she made herself using this tutorial. She looked amazing, and the tutorial looked easy enough for me to handle. So I took myself to JoAnn’s, found this gorgeous purple colored jersey, and last night sat down to tackle it. I […]
