What I Wore: Mustard & Dots

Hello lovelies! I hope your respective weeks are going well. Mine definitely is. That cold front that came through over the weekend had me worried, but then today it was back in the 80’s. Whew! I’m not quite ready for bundling up yet. We’ve moved back to A/C running instead of heat.

This outfit was almost too warm to be wearing outside. I knew I wanted to wear my mustard skinnies today, and while looking for a shirt came upon this polka dot button up I got in a swap awhile back and had completely forgotten about. Kismet! I don’t know how well you can tell from the pictures, but the polka dots are in white AND mint, which is pretty much awesome. I also wore my new necklace from Studio Botanica for the first time, and I love it.

Tonight is, as usual on Wednesdays, date night. It’s Ian’s turn to pick and I have a feeling we’re going to be checking out a new-to-us taco place that a friend recommended. Then this weekend marks the start of the Austin City Limits music festival, which basically means I’m not going to be going anywhere downtown for the next two weekends. Been there, done that, over it. The heat and the crowds (not to mention the ticket price) aren’t worth the few bands I’d want to see.

What are you guys up to this week?

Tuesday Treasure Trove

Tuesday Treasure Trove

Fun video of the week: You’ve probably all seen the Gangnam Style music video that’s been making the rounds of the internet world. Well, a little while ago Samsung (a Korean-based company, remember) had an internal team-building competition to see which Samsung branch could make the best parody video of that Korean pop song. The one Ian works at here in Austin got 2nd place. Go see this craziness here. (Ian, sadly, does not appear in the video) Things You Stop Caring About After You’ve Fallen In Love Why You Should Be Picky. Good points from Manda Rave. What ‘Ethnic’ […]

Sunday Confessions

Linking up with Alyx. 1. Sometimes I will bookmark an item in a ‘Shopping’ folder in my bookmarks instead of pinning to Pinterest because I don’t want anyone else to snatch it up before I can. 2. I’m really glad Elena got eliminated from Project Runway. She was unstable and obsessed with shoulder pads. I don’t understand how she’s the top fan favorite. I feel like whoever voted for her wasn’t watching the same show I was watching. That said, I like both the personalities and design styles of all of the final four, so it’s going to be a […]

Five Things Friday

1. La Fresh Eco Beauty Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover. Yeah, quite a mouthful, huh? I got a sample of these in my latest Birchbox. The directions said simply “Gently press the pad into each nail, and watch your chipped polish dissolve”. I was skeptical. The pad is not all that big, so would it really remove polish on all 10 nails? The answer: YES and I LOVED it. Enough so that I bought the full-size version. No more awkward using Q-tips and Kleenex and harsh-smelling polish remover. These things are so quick, and it smells great (spiced orange), and it […]

What I Wore: Faux Fall

Just because it’s still 85 degrees here during the day doesn’t mean I can’t sartorially pretend it’s fall. Hence my sweater (though short-sleeved) and scarf (though non-warm-making). This is my first venture into fashion scarf wearing. Prior to this, the only times I’ve worn scarves have been in winter and they’ve been of the thick, fleecy variety. So I’m trying something new. These burgundy/bordeaux jeans are also quasi-new to me, but I think I’ve been firmly established into the colored denim club by now. But overall I really like how this turned out, and definitely plan on more colored […]

Tuesday 10: Geeky Facts

Linking up with Lena for the Tuesday 10. 🙂 1. I used to play WoW (World of Warcraft). The recent new expansion has made me consider re-activating my account, but honestly I think I’m done with it. 2. I do still play The Sims 3. Miniature lives completely under my control AND getting to go crazy with architecture/interior design? Yes, please. There may or may not be a mini-me, mini-Ian and mini-Sienna. 3. I was definitely a nerd back in high school. In the band, National Honor Society, salutatorian, and I took so many AP classes I had enough credits […]
