Tuesday Treasure Trove

Tuesday Treasure Trove: this week's round-up of read-worthy links.

Things of Note:

Welcome back after the long weekend! Did you get up to anything? We didn’t so much, just had a nice relaxing weekend. In fact, we had not a single event or thing where there was some sort of schedule we had to meet/keep. It was awesome. What else is awesome? The boy has officially given me the go-ahead to paint walls in the house! I don’t even have to find a good time to drag him to Home Depot to look at swatches, just tell him which walls and what color so he knows. Yay yay yay! There will be some color in this house! I am stopping by Home Depot this afternoon to pick up some swatches (hey, just because he doesn’t want to see them/consider choices, doesn’t mean I don’t).

Anything awesome going on in your life lately? Tell me about it!

Another Brick in the Wall

I took some more product photos for shop listings this weekend, and decided to try out a new background. For the shirts, I’ve mostly been using our backyard fence or our hammock. But we also have brick walls on the sides of our house, and one side in particular actually gets some good light and has a high up window ledge to put hangers on. I’d been reluctant to use it because I wasn’t sure the coloring of the bricks would work for a wide range of shirt colors, but I do really love the texture and general look of […]

10 Ways to Make Life Easier for Others

This originally appeared as a guest post on Lena B. Actually. Life can be stressful, am I right? Well, we’re all in that boat– and we could all be that nice person for someone else, too. Here are ten simple but easy ways […]

Book Review: The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic

The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic by Emily Croy Barker When I finished this book, I was initially very frustrated- until I realized that this is the first book in a series and not a standalone, despite Goodreads’ lack of series qualifier. So be forewarned if you choose to read this! It is a series, and the next book isn’t out yet. This is one of those titles that caught my eye on the New Fiction shelf at the library, and I couldn’t resist. Nora is a modern-day American who stumbles unknowingly through a doorway to an alternate world […]

What I Wore: Black Floral Skirt

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably heard me gush about my recent sewing classes at StitchLab (if you are in Austin, check them out). And with good reason, because through them I now know how to make a skirt. In fact, I made the skirt in this outfit post!! Lace trim and all, completely done by me. I am PUMPED about this new skill. I’ve already made another skirt (at home – unsupervised!) and have fabric to make a few more. It’s going to be a skirt craze over here for awhile. 😀 Luckily the weather has warmed […]
