I’m still playing around with my new camera lens. Here’s some pictures I snapped just around the house this week: Happy weekend! Are you up to anything fun?
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein The Art of Racing in the Rain, despite the title, is only incidentally about racing. It’s more about life wisdom, as seen through the eyes of Enzo, a philosophical lab mix. Yes, the narrator is a dog. The story follows Enzo as he recounts his life with his owner, a race car driver, and all the family and life drama that ensues. He’s at turns funny and very wise, and… Read the rest ⇒
1. I attended a pickling workshop at Treehouse this past week. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was still not what I had expected (if that makes sense). The speaker walked us through making pickles by fermentation, rather than the vinegar brine method I was vaguely familiar with from my Grandma. I was initially skeptical (she was making pickled carrots, which I have no interest in ever eating again), but it’s a method that can be used on… Read the rest ⇒
Photo-heavy post warning! Last week we escaped down to Port Aransas on Mustang Island for a few days. I had traditionally been a cat person, so this was… Read the rest ⇒
I had to drop my sister off at Lackland AFB yesterday afternoon, which we were both sad about. The weekend was a ton of fun! We ate tons of good food around Austin, went to karaoke, went thirft/boutique shopping on South Congress, played with doggies (mine, and a friend’s who had just adopted one), went to a dine-in movie theater to see The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, and generally just hung around the house. She said it was a… Read the rest ⇒
