What I Wore: Neutral Play

neu-5

This is what I wore most of yesterday. I liked the play of different textures and neutral tones, and I like how these pictures turned out. I do not like the fact that about 3 hours after I took these, I was being plagued by a sort throat, increasingly stuffy head, and all the signs of impending sickdom. The lace shirt and sash and necklace got traded out for an old comfy sweatshirt. Much tea and Airborne were drunk. To no avail. Today I am in the full grip of the first cold of the winter, and I’m not liking it one bit.

Sidenote: Today was one of my workout days. Obviously that is not going to happen. But are there people out there who still work out while they’re sick? Because they’re crazy. If I tried to lift one of my handweights right now I’d probably fall over. My arms feel like noodles just thinking about plank position.

Luckily work is still pretty light right now. I’ve got one minor thing to get done today, and then I can veg out with a blanket and kleenex and Netflix.

How are you doing? Hopefully healthier than me. Tell me something good that’s happened to you lately!

What I Wore: Olive & Stripes

What? A new actual outfit post?! Try not to be too shocked, even though I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks. I just wasn’t feeling it for awhile, but now I’m back! So, down to business. I have been on a serious olive kick lately (the color, not the food – though I do like eating olives, too). And it’s mostly because of these pants. Guys, I am in love with these pants. And they’re corduroy. I used to hate corduroy when I was younger (just ask my mom). But they fit great, are warm and comfy, […]

What I Wore: Rose & Stripes

This is what I’m wearing today. I had some bank account stuff and PO box stuff to sort out, and I find I get taken more seriously if I wear a blazer. 😀 Plus it’s comfy and coordinates well with the pink of this tank, and adds some patterned interest to the outfit. Win all around. Overall, too, this was not an expensive outfit. The blazer and the tank were both bought on super sale. The shoes were a giveaway win. The ring was bought for a few bucks through a sample sale. The clothes are quality pieces, so I’m […]

What I Wore: Grey Stripes & Mint

I’m a bit behind this week, but I managed to snap these today before a storm rolled in. That’s right, it’s real-time personal style reporting, folks! Haha. But yeah, wearing this right now. Super comfy, as I like all my outfits to be. If there ever comes a day where I decide, for whatever reason, that I no longer like jersey knits, someone knock the crazy out of me. They are my jam. This cardi last seen here, but it’s this dress’ first blog appearance. I love the stripes against the solid, and the interesting lines of it. Plus, like […]

What I Wore: Black Stripes & Mustard Tights

This week’s outfit was partially inspired by Ma Nouvelle Mode‘s Copy Cat Closet challenge, which for this week was colored tights. I’ve dipped my toe into wearing colored tights before and have several pairs, but I hadn’t had a chance to wear these mustard ones yet. Or this dress. Greyscale stripes + mustard yellow seemed like an easy win, so voila! This dress is surprisingly comfortable, and there’s just enough nip in the air that the tights are welcome. The boots are fabulous (they can be worn cuffed with the herringbone showing, or not), but have a bit higher […]

What I Wore: Mustard & Stripes

This is what I wore yesterday. Yes, it’s still sunny and 80 degrees here – I know, I’m amazed, too. November! This is my perfect weather, though. Not too cold, not too hot, not dreary. If I could just freeze the weather line-up at this I would (with the occasional rainstorm so, you know, we don’t get a drought). It’s going to be a bit of a system shock when we head up to Ohio for Thanksgiving; they’ve already had snow. I love this dress. I love the color, the fact that’s it’s super-soft-comfy jersey, and -of course- its twirlability. […]

What I Wore: Wine Tasting

My birthday yesterday was a pretty awesome day. It started out like this:   with the puppy keeping me company while Ian cooked me some breakfast in bed. Then we headed out to a local vineyard for a wine tasting. Neither Ian or I had been to a vineyard or done a wine tasting before, so we were excited.   It was a lot of fun! We each got to pick 6 wines from the list for the tasting, and got to keep the glasses as souvenirs. The staff was really nice and informative about the wines, and we didn’t […]
