Friday Favorites: The Bandwagon (A to Z of Me)

Life sort of went insane with freelancing work this week, the result of which is I didn’t have time/opportunity to bake and take pictures of the recipe thing I wanted to share. And since next week I’ll have my mom in town, and be down in San Antonio for my sister’s USAF graduation, the recipe probably won’t be coming until two weeks from now.

HOWEVER. Since I didn’t want to crap out on the Friday Favorites series completely this week, this will be a photo-sparese but fact&fun-filled post. This little A to Z list has been making the rounds of the blogosphere, and I like ’em. The personality of each individual blogger completely comes through, so it’s like getting to know that person that much more. And so this week I’m joining the bandwagon. 🙂

A. Age: 26, though I turn 27 next weekend.
B. Bed size: Queen. Though sometimes I wish it were King, because Ian (my boyfriend) is occasionally a bed hog.
C. Chore that you hate: Yard work. Pretty much any type of yard work. This includes pooper-scooping the back yard due to puppy.
D. Dogs, Dragons: Just one dog, though she is a [cute] handful. Sienna, a reddish-brown pitt-lab mix, just turned one this summer. We’ve had her since baby puppyhood. Also, dragons are pretty much my favorite animal, mythical or otherwise, if the blog/shop name didn’t give you a clue.
E. Essential start to your day: Sipping sweet tea while browsing through Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds. Also making a bet with myself as to how many unread emails will have accumulated in my inbox overnight.
F. Favorite color: Purple (the exact shade is aubergine).
G. Gold or Silver: Silver, though if bronze were a choice it’d likely be that lately.
H. Height: 5’8″. It’s tricky, because if I wear heels I’m taller than my boyfriend, which is a bit awkward.
I. Instruments you play: Piano. I took lessons from 2nd grade to 12th, and still play, though sadly I only have an electronic keyboard currently; it’s just not the same.
J. Job title: Freelance Graphic Designer. I’ve been running my own business for over 5 years now – yay!
K. Kids: Not of the human variety. Sienna is our furkid.
L. Live: in Round Rock (North Austin), TX with my boyfriend of 2+ years, Ian.
M. Mother’s name: Janet. I get to see her in a week, yay!
N. Nicknames: Manda, Cobby (last name is Cobb). These have really tapered off since school days ended.
O. Overnight hospital stays: I had pneumonia in both lungs when I was 16; 4-day hospital stay. Good times.
P. Pet peeves: Slow drivers in the fast lane. Window blinds being open when it’s dark outside. People who don’t use turn signals. Freelance clients who pay late, or wait to the last minute to send work they need RIGHT NOW even though I gave them advance out-of-office notice. Stepping in something wet when I’m wearing socks.
Q. Quote from a movie: “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” – Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
R. Right or left handed: Right.
S. Siblings: 1 older sister, 2 younger sisters.
U. Underwear: I have a LOT of it. Mostly from Target or Victoria’s Secret. I love color and lace trim. Hiphuggers are my current favorite style.
V. Vegetable you hate: Peppers. I don’t like spicy. And even when non-spicy red peppers are in something, I don’t like to eat them.
W. What makes you run late: My puppy taking her sweet time to do business before I put her in her kennel. Traffic – our neighborhood’s only outlet is onto a very busy highway access road, with no signal lights. Then of course there’s the normal big-city and rush-hour traffic.
X. X-Rays you’ve had: Lungs, wrist, finger, teeth. Also had an ultrasound on my heart once.
Y. Yummy food that you make: Sweet potato casserole.
Z. Zoo animal: The big cats. Lions and tigers and leopards.
