Craftily Saving a Swap

Once upon a time there was a girl who went to a clothing swap and was lucky enough to find a gorgeous dress in her size. She loved the dress…

Happy with my swap choice.

…until she got it home and tried it on fully and noticed a problem.

Sad face.

She decided to salvage what she could of this garment and turn it into a shirt.

Deciding where to cut, keeping the angled drape.

There were also a few beads missing on the top, but luckily the part cut off had some to spare.

And so she did.

Happy with my new tank top.

Any interesting items you’ve salvaged lately, readers?

  1. You know what?! I think I like the shirt better than the dress – it looks great and is so flattering!!

    1. Well thank you! I’m a sucker for a good flowy dress, but I’ll probably wear it more often in shirt form anyway, so double win. 🙂

  2. I agree with the other comments — I think the shirt is more flattering! Love that color on you 🙂
