This past month I participated in the Thrifty Love gift exchange run by Carina. She paired everyone up, and then we exchanged notes on what we liked to thrift shop for, and went to town. The idea was to find something you thought your thrifty partner would love, and the spending limit was $10.
I was paired up with LeAnna of Thoughts & Whatnots. She’s a fun chica and photographer, living and blogging in Oklahoma. She also just announced last week that she’s expecting her third child – congrats again lady! 🙂 We traded a few emails, and then went shopping. As usually happens, I was looking for a few things in specific based on her notes, but then found something else that I thought would be perfect for her (and I was very nearly tempted to keep it for myself). It took up my budget, but I thought it was great. Head on over to her space to see what it was.
This is what I received from her:
She did amazing! I got a big ol’ cookbook, 2 so-purple-they’re-almost-black glasses, and 2 matching picture frames for me to deconstruct and repaint. I loved all of it! And let me just add that she made me feel like a thrifting newbie – I couldn’t believe she got all of that for $10!
Here’s some close-ups:
All in all, a very good experience, and now I have a new goal to reach LeAnna’s level of thrifting queendom. 😀

Wow! I love the cookbook. I’ve always been interested in vintage ANYTHING. That’s pretty awesome!
The cookbook is awesome, but also a little jaw-dropping. It has recipes for things like squirrel and pigeon!! So crazy.
That a really neat idea! And that cook book looks awesome, I love the green colour and the old binding 🙂
It is cool; I may need to patch up the binding just a bit so I don’t completely destroy it flipping through pages.
What a cool idea!!
