What I Wore: Faux Fall

Just because it’s still 85 degrees here during the day doesn’t mean I can’t sartorially pretend it’s fall. Hence my sweater (though short-sleeved) and scarf (though non-warm-making). This is my first venture into fashion scarf wearing. Prior to this, the only times I’ve worn scarves have been in winter and they’ve been of the thick, fleecy variety. So I’m trying something new. These burgundy/bordeaux jeans are also quasi-new to me, but I think I’ve been firmly established into the colored denim club by now. But overall I really like how this turned out, and definitely plan on more colored denim and scarf wearing. 🙂

This week has been kind of slow going, work-wise. The upside to that is that I’ve been getting a lot of blog and shop stuff done. I did a photo shoot of a bunch of new printed shirts today, and am going to photo edit after finishing this post. So those should all hit the shop tomorrow. Also, it’s date night tonight and my turn to pick, which means one thing: steak! One of the perks of being the designer for a fine dining magazine means occasional restaurant gift cards as perks, and we have one to ALC Steaks that’s been burning a hole in my pocket. Nom. It is a bit fancier of a place that this outfit would work for, so I’ll probably switch out my top and shoes later. Small price to pay for delicious steak.

How’s everyone’s week going?

  1. That’s a cute scarf!

It’s been a good week so far… adjusting to working outside the house, looks like I’ll have my company’s website launched tomorrow afternoon (fingers crossed!).

  2. Love love love the scarf and sweater look…I probably would pair the scarf with a matching boot and cross body bag..with my BASE outfit being a colored skirt/and that gorgeous sweater…LOVE this look….Hmmm..probably add hoop earings and some arm candy…lovely relaxed look…

    1. I will definitely be pairing boots with this once it gets colder out. When it’s still so warm, though, my feet don’t like ’em. And I do have a skirt that is the same color as these jeans… I may have to try that combo, too! Thanks for the idea. 😉

How have you been? I haven’t seen you in forever!

  3. This is a very pretty combo! I really like that scarf. My office is ridiculously cold so I get to bundle up during the day!

    1. Thank you! I had that problem when I worked in an office, too – it was always freezing. Lucking, I’m the only human home during the day here, so I get to play thermostat dictator. 😀

    1. Thank you! I, quite literally, got all of my colored denim at Target. I’d recommend it if you’re looking to get some. 🙂

  4. Hi Amanda! Thanks for swinging by my blog and saying “hi”! I’ve been faking fall, too – it’s still in the 90’s here. :-S Absolutely love your scarf!

    1. Thanks for saying hi back! 🙂 Yeah, we’re still regularly in the mid-80’s here, so true fall fashion won’t be happening for a little bit.
