This is what I wore yesterday. Yes, it’s still sunny and 80 degrees here – I know, I’m amazed, too. November! This is my perfect weather, though. Not too cold, not too hot, not dreary. If I could just freeze the weather line-up at this I would (with the occasional rainstorm so, you know, we don’t get a drought). It’s going to be a bit of a system shock when we head up to Ohio for Thanksgiving; they’ve already had snow.
I love this dress. I love the color, the fact that’s it’s super-soft-comfy jersey, and -of course- its twirlability. I can’t wear a skirt/dress like this and not twirl. It’s pretty much mandatory. I am skeptical of anyone who wears a dress or skirt this shape and says they haven’t twirled. Highly skeptical.
Sartorial delight aside, it was a pretty tense day yesterday. Aside from the election (of which I will just say that I am proud not only of how the presidential race turned out, but also of the states that legalized marriage for everyone and turned down attempts to curb women’s rights), I also read a book. An exceedingly well-written and heart-wrenching and made-me-cry book. From start to finish in one sitting. Perhaps not the best choice when already tense from awaiting election results, but there you have it. On the other hand, the satisfaction of reading a quality book followed by the satisfaction of a much hoped for political result made for one of the better evenings I’ve had when flying solo. Book review to come later this week.
