What I Wore: Olive & Mustard

This is an outfit I wore last week. Yeah, I know- I’m on a mustard kick. So sue me. 🙂 I love the length of this top, though I might remove the belt loops so I can wear the belt a bit lower. I feel like it hits just a tad on the high side like this. But it’s a great color and length and comfy to boot. Triple win. I didn’t have anything specific going on this day, just work from home and a few errands I didn’t even have to get out of the car for. It was a slow day.

This week is anything but slow. I am actually kind of swamped with work, so much so that I have a little bit of a guilt complex over taking the time to write out this post instead of jumping immediately into work stuff. Ah well. I’ll get over it.

Tomorrow is the first of the holiday work parties for Ian’s work. I’m still trying to figure out what to wear. It’s at a posh nightclub downtown that they rented out, but then they also said dress code was pretty casual. I’d been hoping to do full-on fancy holiday dress, but I’ll probably end up in dressy casual with a bit of sparkle. We’ll see.

What are you up to this week?

Colors: Mustard, Olive, Dark Chocolate, Cognac, and Bronze

    1. Haha, thanks. It doesn’t work on you? I thought mustard was one of those shades what could work in some way on everyone (unlike, say, regular bright yellow).

  1. I just love this outfit! Casual & very pulled together! I am loving how popular the mustard is & all the different ways to wear it, love the skinny jeans! 🙂

    1. Thank you! I didn’t get any pictures beforehand (we were in a hurry) but I’m putting together a Polyvore set of what I wore. 🙂

    1. Yeah, it’s still getting into the upper 70’s here most days, too. I’m probably still going to be wearing mustard when it’s cold out, though, haha. 🙂

  2. Isn’t it amazing how many ways you can style mustard/orangeish jeans! And for the holiday party, I vote for sparkly-elegant! Stand out in the crowd and go all out 🙂

    1. I know! I keep finding new things to pair them with. It’s awesome. 🙂

I ended up doing a pretty ModCloth dress for the party, and it worked out well!

  3. Great outfit! I have some tops with too-high belt loops, too. I just can’t wear my belts up that high.

Have a great time at the party. You can definitely still glam up a casual look!

  4. Love the outfit. The fit is fabulous and the pants are cool. I so agree about work dos should be for dressing up!! Hope you work out what to wear. Thanks for joining up with Wardrobe Wednesday 🙂
