Operation Xmas (also know as Operation Christmas Tree) was a success! We picked out a tree in record time, got it onto the roof of the car with some help from the Home Depot guy, got it home and into the house and into its base. It was tall and beautiful and smell-goody. I pulled out the bins of decorations and started stringing lights. And then the first hitch. This tree was taller than our tree of yore, and needed another strand of lights to be fully decked. So off Ian went into the shopping wilderness to pick up another strand of warm white lights. And it was a hunt. There were cool white aplenty, but warm white was all sold out. He finally found a lone box of the mini mini warm white lights and bagged it before the other fellow in search of warm white lights clued in*. Home he came, and the tree was lit. Ornaments were hung. A few presents wrapped early and set under the tree. A few pine needles eaten by the puppy. And voila! It is now Christmas-like in this house. ๐
*Ok, so I don’t know if it was the actual last box, but there was another guy there, also on the phone with his lady, clearly in search of warm white lights and explaining to her they were all sold out. Apparently these things are in demand. I do not remember them being so hard to find 2 years ago when I got all my ornaments and what-nots.
And yes, when I bought all of my ornaments, I stuck to a specific color scheme. I’m a designer, what did you expect? ๐ I think it looks lovely.
This pretty much set the tone for a good weekend, as I love getting & decorating the tree. How was your weekend?
