In case you still need to do some holiday shopping, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite online, handmade/small business shops. Of course, they’re good anytime, not just for the holidays. But I’ll use the season as an excuse to give shout-outs to these ladies and their wonderful products:
Mama’s Nest Designs run by the fabulous Tricia. Unarguably one of my favorite shops. I own 7 – SEVEN! – necklaces made by Tricia. If you’ve been following my What I Wore series for awhile, you’ve seen some of them. Anyway, Tricia is awesome to work with! Two of my necklaces are custom pieces, and she did an amazing job. I’m wearing one of them right now, in fact. So if you need a cute necklace or earrings for someone on your gift list (or yourself!), check out her shop!
Made By Michelle Brusegard (aka MBMB). Michelle’s work is what first inspired me to try my hand at screen printing. I had bought a dress of hers, and the simplicity of the design (as opposed to some graphic tees where there’s layers and layers to the image) made me wonder if I could do it. Obviously we have very different designs and styles and products, but she still gave me that initial oomph to try it out on my own. She’s got a boatload of paper goods, as well as some accessories and home decor. Definitely check out her shop.
Sweetsie’s Sweets & Treats by the talented Kim. Homemade cookies and goodies, what more do you need to know? ๐ But seriously, this is some tasty goodness. My particular favorite are the cherry shortbreads, but it was a close call. If you’ve got someone with a sweet tooth on your gift list (for any occasion, not just Christmas), this is the place to go. The sampler is probably a good choice if you want to try a bit of everything. Go browse, but beware that it’ll make you hungry.
And of course there’s my shop as well, but I’m understandably a little biased. ๐
Plans this weekend consist of lots of cleaning and organizing to get ready for our Christmas guests. And also hopefully checking out the Trail of Lights. How about you? Any fun weekend plans?
