What I Wore: Plaid Hooded

This is what I wore yesterday. It’s maybe a little on the kooky side, but it’s comfy and I ended up loving it. Bonus is that every single clothing item here was bought at a super sale price. The dress is a nice light t-shirt like material, and the tights are heavier, so it all evens out and worked both for the 50-degree morning and the 80-degree afternoon. I think the dress is a tad too short for me to wear comfortably without tights, but since tights are the order of the day this time of year it’s not a problem. 😀

I am having to be quiet around the house again today, as Ian is sleeping after night shift. I wish his work hadn’t switched him up like that this week of all weeks, because it’s kind of throwing a wrench in being able to do pre-guest chores around the house. But he has Thursday off and has pledged his house-cleaning support so I guess we’ll just do most of it then. I can de-clutter and do some laundry in the meantime, I guess.

I hope my family likes the gifts I sent. It’ll be weird not being there when they open them. And we’ve all done the ‘oh yeah, I loved it!’ fakeness over the phone, so that’s not a reliable gauge. 🙂 Oh well. I think I did pretty good. Ian’s family, on the other hand, I have no idea if I picked out good things or not. And they’ll be here, so I’ll get the unvarnished reaction. Fingers crossed, haha.

How’s your week going? Do you over-worry about people liking your gifts, too?

  1. I really love the outfit. I love anything slightly (or over the top) kooky.
I try not to stress about what people will think of my gifts, but I am typically only buying for people I know really well so it’s not an issue.

    1. Thank you! And yeah, usually I don’t stress as much, but I’ve got the quasi in-laws here this year, and I had no idea really what to get them. Guess I’ll find out!

    1. Hello back, fellow fellow Texan! 😀 And thank you 🙂 I’ve been wearing fun tights (like these!) a lot lately, too.

  2. I like kooky, so this is right up my ally. It’s not too weird though (don’t worry 🙂 ). I have a pair of plaid tights and I sometimes don’t know what to wear them with. I like what you’ve done with the skirt and vest and the color palette.

    1. Haha, thanks. I wasn’t too worried, it was just slightly different from my usual style. I’ve had the hardest time figuring out what to pair these tights with, too. Eventually I just settled on layers in similar colors to what was already in the plaid. I like how it turned out. 🙂

  3. I love these tights and the clover necklace too. and yes I certainly worry about what people might think of my presents. Thanks for being part of Wardrobe Wednesday and a very Merry Christmas to you.

    1. Thank you! And I’m glad I’m not the only one (though maybe we should both just stress less?), haha. A very Merry Christmas to you as well! 😀
