What I Wore: Black Scallops

This is what I’m wearing today. And it’s only 37 degrees outside, and I’m not that dedicated to outfit posts, so indoor shots are the name of the game. They didn’t turn out too badly, I think, though honestly I didn’t spend much time on them. Normally I like to get the What I Wore features ready ahead of time for Wednesday postings, but between holidays and Ian being sick and nasty wet weather here lately, it just didn’t happen this week.

But anyway! This sweater. I LOVE it. It is cozy and soft and pretty, and I love the scalloped edges on the hem, neckline and sleeves. And I nabbed it for only $10 during a Black Friday super sale, so it gets extra bonus points. I love when I can find quality pieces for a fraction of the price they normally sell for. That’s my shopping A-game, I think. Chances are, if you see me wearing a nicer piece or brand name something or other, I got it on clearance or during a crazy holiday sale or some other instance where I didn’t pay nearly full price. ‘Cause this girl likes nice things, but she’s also got a budget.

Not much in the way of news this week. Ian’s shingles episode has meant it’s been pretty quiet around here, which is ok. New Years was just dinner on the couch watching TV and waiting for the ball to drop. One glass of wine for me, none for him because of meds. Puppy curled up at our feet. It was relaxing and nice. 🙂 Luckily he is feeling much better and symptoms have cleared up enough that I can reclaim my side of the bed instead of being relegated to the guest room. Woohoo! Also, we are finally seeing Les Mis this weekend – tickets have been bought! It is happening, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t squeeing a bit in excitement.

How is your week going?

  1. I love the way you have used colour underneath to highlight the lacey pattern of the sweater. Gorgeosu. Happy New Year and thanks for being a part of Wardrobe Wednesday this week. :o)

  2. Great buy on the sweater – it looks great on you!

I’ve never purchased jeans from VS, but I have purchased dresses and swimsuits from them and the quality has always been great.

    1. Thanks! And yeah, it’s actually backwards, but I like the clothes from VS (jeans, tops, dresses) more than their bras.

  3. That sweater! It’s so comfy looking, and so pretty. I love comfy, pretty sweaters. 😉 And hoodies, oh my Goddess do I love hoodies. You look so pretty. 🙂 New Years Eve was relaxing here as well, Jen and I hate crowds so we stayed in, drank wine, ate good food, played SW:TOR and relaxed.

I hope Ian feels 100% soon. I’m so sorry he’s been sick! 🙁

    1. He is almost back to 100%, thank goodness. And thank you! I love comfy, pretty sweaters, too, (obvs). 🙂 Sounds like you had a nice relaxing New Years!
