What I Wore: Blazers & Knots

This is what I wore today. I know I usually do these on Wednesday, but time & weather didn’t allow until now. Somehow, freakishly, the rainy, cold weather of the past week disappeared today and we got sunny in the 70’s. My kind of weather. 🙂

You haven’t really seen me in blazers too much on the blog yet, which is weird because I actually own (and wear) a few of them. So it’s about time. This is one of my favorites. It’s nice and light, but sharp looking. And it was perfect against all of the darker tones in the rest of the outfit.

Today was mostly work, with a break for errands and a doctor’s appointment. And apparently I was due for my tetanus shot, so that got sprung on me while I was there. I am NOT a fan of needles, if you didn’t know. It was relatively painless, though I always make a point not to look at the actual needle. We’ll see how the arm is feeling tomorrow; this is one of those shots that can make you sore/break out in a rash afterwards. Yay.

This weekend is cooking and coffee with friends and a housewarming at a different friend’s and some screenprinting and some down time. My kind of weekend. What have you got planned?

  1. We had warm temps today too. I actually opened the sunroof and aired out the car today.

This is such a pretty outfit. The color and unique style of the top looks great on you. I love seeing blazers on others, but I never think to purchase one for myself when I’m out shopping.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Woo sunroof! I didn’t think of that, I should’ve done the same.

Thanks! I love this top, too, the color and the softness. It’s a new favorite. 🙂 Definitely give a blazer a try if you find one you like!

  2. Ugh needles and shots!! Hopefully you don’t get any weird shot side effects! You kind of look like a doctor in that shot of you shoulders up. Like it’s your white medical coat… ;)Very professional!

    1. I didn’t get any weird side effects, but it was definitely sore for a couple of days. And lol on me looking like a doctor – it’s true in that shot, but I hadn’t noticed it.

  3. That is just the coolest ring!! Got to love those NYC vendors! And the shoes are adorable- I love the knot like look on the toes. 🙂

    1. Thanks! 😀 It was a total geek buy because I was trying to find a snake ring like the Aes Sedai wear in the Wheel of Time series… this was the closest I could find, but I love it! Still a favorite even though I’ve had it like 10 years. And these are also my go-to flats. Super comfy, go with everything, cute knot detailing.

  4. Oooh! I love that shirt!

I’m planning on just having a lot of down time this weekend. Will probably go to a yoga class or two… Maybe do some journaling… and I probably should mop the bathroom and the kitchen again. Men track in so much dirt!

  5. That ring is great! I used to have one that was quite similar, but I lost it on a school trip.
This weekend I’m relaxing, reading, crocheting and going to see The Hobbit with my boyfriend. It’s going to be lovely.

  6. There is so much I love about this outfit! The color of that pretty blouse, those shoes and especially that snake ring. I love snake jewelry!

Jen has a fear of needles, as do I. I can’t even remember the last time I got a shot, I think around kindergarten… and I freaked. Eep!

    1. Yeah, the shot was not fun. But the arm soreness is all gone now, so all is well.

Thanks! I was pretty happy with this outfit, too. And that’s one of my favorite rings. 🙂

    1. Thanks! And true. If I know I have to get a shot/blood drawn beforehand I can work myself into quite a stress ball. This was relatively easy by comparison. 🙂

    1. You know, it’s not normally my style either (I don’t have a lot of animal jewelry or prints), but I just love this all the same. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  7. I love that blazer, it’s so cute!

And this has nothing to do with the post, but are you doing book club this month?!? I hope so… I feel like I haven’t talked to you in forever and it’d be fun if you joined the video chat!!
