This is what I’m wearing today. And it’s been a doozy of a day so far. Combination headache + lots of work + monthly curse = I just want to wrap up in this cardigan and take a nap on the couch. But that is not an option for self-employed freelancers with deadlines to meet today, so instead I took a mini break to do this post. It’s not a nap, but it at least gave my brain a break for a little bit from work and emails. So if I look tired and/or grumpy in these, that’d be why. End whiny time.
Life is not all that bad aside from today’s woes. The weather has warmed back up, and I’ve been getting lots of quality time with Ian this week since he took it off work. We even cooked a new-to-us recipe last night for the first time in a long time! I’d thought that would lead to a long overdue new recipe post, but… well, I wasn’t super taste-satisfied with how it turned out, and I don’t like to pass on recipes I’m not blown away by. But we have two more new-to-us things on the agenda this week, so fingers crossed! That section of the blog has been sadly neglected of late.
I had another lesson on my sewing machine yesterday, and I’m feeling more confident about tackling projects beyond pillows. I do have to practice stitching in a straight line more though, haha. Can’t have hems and seams straggling all over the place when I start altering/making clothes. I wasn’t too picky with the pillows, but clothing is another story. I will let you know how that goes.
How about you folks? Having a mid-week low or high today?

It is quite cozy! Might be my favorite cardigan. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I love the lace top with this cardigan! The colors are perfect together!
I’m sorta jealous of your self-employed status. TEACH ME YOUR SECRETS!
Thank you! 🙂
Self-employment secrets: be really good at self-motivation (or have a really active guilty conscience) and not mind living paycheck for paycheck for a few years.
Love that cardi! Absolutely gorgeous. And the lace top is perfect with it!
Thank you!! 😀
Love the sweater! Great post. You look beautiful.

Aw, thank you!
That cardigan looks like it would be perfect to curl up into.
It is. 🙂 Definitely one of my coziest cardis.
Loving the color combo and the red boots are my favorite! Good luck with the sewing adventure… I stopped at throw pillows 🙂
Thank you! I have a couple of items I picked up from Goodwill that I’m going to try altering. Nothing too complex yet, just making a dress shorter and re-hemming, that kind of thing.
Pretty! Love those red boots!
Thanks!! Me too. 🙂
That cardigan is KILLER!!!! In love!!! And thanks for the sweet comment…finally starting to feel better. Thank goodness!!!
Thanks!!! I’m rather in love with it, too. Glad you’re feeling better. 🙂
Loving the entire outfit, especially those boots!
Thanks!! 😀
I was in the same boat on Wednesday! No fun! You look so chic and comfy though. I love that top and the cardi is gorgeous too. I love trying new-to-us stuff. Especially food. Mmmm. We tried an Indian dish (microwavable meal, but oh well) and it was DELICIOUS. It’s called Chicken Makhani. Mmmm.
Definitely no fun. I was in a funk all week. All better now, though. And thanks! 😀
I have a love-hate relationship with Indian food. A few dishes I love, but a lot of it I can’t eat – the flavors are just too strong.
LOVE how the neutrals work together! Completely feeling your headspace, I gave myself the day off today, and it is such a hard thing to do when the computer, iphone etc are all in such close proximity calling for you to get busy on that to do list!!

Thank you! And I know what you mean. I have my work emails all starred in my inbox, so even just innocently checking my email makes me feel like I should be working and tending to those starred items.
I’m so glad you liked your jewelry from the swap! 🙂 The necklace goes so well with your other neutrals here. You look cute!
Thanks! And I loved it all! That necklace is a new favorite. 🙂
