I had a crafty post all planned for today, but then life happened and I just didn’t get around to the project this weekend. I’m still nursing my tiredness from the socializing marathon and loss of an hour (curse you, DST!), so ‘real’ posts will resume tomorrow. 🙂 In the meantime, some bits and pieces happening around here:
1. Had a FABULOUS time at the TxSC mixer on Saturday, and ended up leaving the craft camp on Sunday early, which was the reverse of what I expected. And I was a bad blogger, because I hardly took any pictures. I met some fabulous ladies at the shop hop on Saturday (shout-outs to Nicole, Kara, Liz, Indiana, Miranda & Linda! And Jena, though she didn’t tell me her blog), and those 7 hours actually flew by. And I managed to restrain myself to just a few choice purchases, so I didn’t hurt the bank. Though I have to say that spending any amount of time in Neiman Marcus, no matter the company, is a bit depressing. They have lovely things, but ain’t no way I can spend $600 on a dress unless I’m getting married in it. The craft camp the next day could’ve been fun, except it turned out I wasn’t really interested in any of the things being crafted. I didn’t know until afterwards that the hosts had put up previews of what we were going to be making, otherwise I probably just would’ve skipped it. I stuck around for a bit and chatted, but the small space didn’t really permit hanging out if you weren’t actively crafting. So I headed back to Round Rock to spend time with the boy and the pup. But I have to say, meeting so many local Austin-area bloggers was awesome! I foresee lady-blogger coffee dates in the future. 😀
2. Recipe for a quick tasty lunch: a Progresso soup with some liquid drained + so many crumbled Ritz crackers that there’s not really any liquid left = awesome. It may look like mush, but it’s oh so tasty and warm-making. Tell me I’m not the only one who does this?
3. I’ve finished the screen for the larger version of my clover design for the shop. The small clover (already available) is about 3.5″ and this new larger version (printing with it this week) is about 5″. That doesn’t sound like much, but it’s significantly larger.
4. We have an out-of-town wedding to go to this weekend and I don’t know what to wear! I may throw some options up here on Thursday and let you guys chime in.
How’s your week starting off?

that progresso thing is legit. i do pretty much the same with ramen and eat it like pasta. in middle school, the only thing i knew how to cook was chicken pot pie that involved pouring progresso soup into biscuit dough in large muffin tins. if that sounds yummy to you, you should google it.
i had a blast meeting you this weekend! i totally didn’t make it to the crafting thing because i’m not crafty and didn’t want to look illegit in front of all the cool bloggers.
definitely throw up some wear-to-wedding options! i want to vote!
xo nicole
I’m so glad to have met you, too! I’m emailing peeps tomorrow about the coffee meetup we talked about. Totally playing instigator on this one because I want it to happen!
Those soup & biscuit pot pie thingammies sound right up my alley. 😀
Wedding wear options will probably go up on Thursday!
That Progresso soup trip sounds amazing! I’ll definitely have to try that. I’m so jealous that you got to go to the TxSC events. I wanted to go so badly, but I didn’t really know anyone from Houston that was going and I’ve never been to Austin. I would probably get lost!
P.S. I love you for saying “ain’t no way.” I say that out loud alllll the time.
You can still come to the conference in August! It sounds like they’re really broadening it this year, so it’s all sorts of workshops and options, not just fashion/photo related. I’m pretty excited about it. 😀
Haha, I say that a lot too!
I don’t do the soup thing, however I have been extremely addicted to making french toast in a mug. Oh my god, it’s so good!!!
I’ll definitely vote on the wedding wear. ;P
Well, I don’t do the french toast thing. So you can have all of that, and I’ll take all the soup. 😀
