I’ve been getting more and more into patterns and prints. A few years ago, if you had looked in my closet, you would’ve seen mostly an unbroken line of solid colors. Now you’d find all sorts of stuff: polka dots, stripes, florals, geometrics (but not really any animal prints – not a huge fan of those). Even Aztec-inspired pieces like this tunic. It’s a bit reminiscent of an 80’s pattern, but I think just updated enough to avoid direct reference. I love it. It’s super comfortable, and the cream-and-faded-black combo pretty much goes with anything. I chose to pair it with these olive pants, because it’s getting hot out and jeans just seemed too heavy. I also busted out my open-toed sandals from the storage box under the bed – yay! Now as long as there’s not another freak cold spell, I can get the mess of shoes in the kitchen under control. For awhile there I didn’t know if I’d be wearing boots or sandals, and it’s become a bit of a pile-up.
What’s your take on prints and patterns? Gung-ho or no-no?

Shirt: the Doodle Your Best Top from ModCloth
Shoes: the Breezy Does It Sandal from ModCloth (no longer available)
Necklace: custom piece from Girl Tuesday Jewelry on Etsy (similar, in red jasper rather than coral – mine is less saturate in real life than it looks in the detail shot)
Bracelet: from Whispering Sweet Nothings on Etsy
Rings: have owned so long I don’t remember. I think the snake is from an NYC street vendor, no idea on the knot.

Hi Amanda! I love the Aztec inspired print on your tee! I tend to wear a lot of solids and stripes but have slowly been adding more prints to my wardrobe. Hope you’re having a great week!
Thanks! Sounds like you’re in a similar boat, wardrobe-wise. Hope you’re having a good week, too! 🙂
LOVE that top! LOVE!!!!
We are getting a freak cold spell. Shorts on Wednesday (no joke………84 degrees) and SNOW TOMORROW!
Aw, thanks!
We had some up and down weather, too. It was 80-something the day I took these photos, and then 50-something the next day or two. Now we’re back up to 80’s. Craziness.
… I do not envy you the snow.
You look great in this printed shirt! I love how your accessories tie everything together.
Thank you! 😀
Love this look. I can’t say no to a fun print… I haven’t really done aztec yet… but I really love how you paired this top with the olive skinnies! ♥
Thanks for linking up!
Thanks, Lena! 🙂 And I’m surprised you haven’t tried Aztec prints, you are the queen of prints!
Hello there friend, loving your shirt! I just got my first aztec like print from the printed pallette and I’m in love with it. I’m so happy that you linked up with us this week and I really want to come and love on your dog. So cute. xoxo
Hi, and thanks!! 🙂 Aztec is one of those prints I wasn’t sure I’d like, but it just took finding the right piece.
(Sienna says thanks, too – the pup knows she’s cute).
