What I Wore: Rose & Stripes

close2

This is what I’m wearing today. I had some bank account stuff and PO box stuff to sort out, and I find I get taken more seriously if I wear a blazer. ๐Ÿ˜€ Plus it’s comfy and coordinates well with the pink of this tank, and adds some patterned interest to the outfit. Win all around. Overall, too, this was not an expensive outfit. The blazer and the tank were both bought on super sale. The shoes were a giveaway win. The ring was bought for a few bucks through a sample sale. The clothes are quality pieces, so I’m extra happy to have grabbed them at way less than full price. The necklace was probably the most moolah, and that’s just because it’s gold. I’ll be wearing this out to date night tonight, too.

Let’s see, other news. We finally hired a professional lawn service, and this morning they tackled the monstrously overgrown bushes in front of our house. It looks so much better, and dare I say respectable. I told Ian to make sure he’s pulling into the right driveway, that’s how different it looks. And since we’re waiting to paint interior walls until we get the floors redone, for some color in the meantime I’ve ordered some wall decals. I’ve never used them before, so we’ll see how that goes and whether I like them.

Otherwise, I’ve just been working like a madwoman on shop stuff. My 2-year shop and blog anniversary is this weekend, and I have some ideas I want to unveil, so I’m trying to get ready for that.

What have you been up to this week? And do you think Persons in Authority take you more seriously when you wear a blazer, or is that just me?

  1. I love blazers and how that kick every outfit up a notch. Exciting about the lawn service, yard work is no fun!

    1. Exactly! I feel like an outfit automatically looks more put together, just by throwing on a blazer.

And yes, yardwork is the pits.

  2. Haha blazers definitely say professional and don’t mess with me ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy almost blogiversary ๐Ÿ™‚
