- This quote by J.K. Rowling on parents that forbid their children from reading Harry Potter (or any fantasy novel that they vaguely disagree with): “I have a real issue with anyone trying to protect children from their own imaginations. If we cannot acknowledge that a lot of us have a bit of darkness within ourselves, some more than others perhaps, and bring it into the light and examine it and talk about this part of the human condition, then I think we will be living in quite a dangerous climate. I think that’s much more damaging for children.”
Things of Note:
We had a good weekend. There was a drinky movie night with friends, and a soccer game, and a lavender bubble bath, and a good bit of Netflix watching (Bones is my new favorite show). And now it’s back into the swing of things. And dang what a swing. Between the TxSC Conference this weekend and my mini craft show next weekend, on top of normal work + house + puppy stuff, things are a little crazy around here. I HAVE TO DO ALL THE THINGS. But, I think it will all get done. At least I hope it all gets done. I do need to do a bunch more printing for the show, and plan out my outfits for the conference, and real work things that pop up. But it feels just this side of manageable, so fingers crossed.
At the very least, I have a mini break this afternoon for a much needed massage and chiro adjustment. A little bit of pampering can do wonders, am I right?
What are you up to this week? Will I see any of you at TxSC?
