Chocolate Fudge

This is one of my all-time favorite sweets around the holidays: sweet, decadent chocolate fudge. My mom has been making this around Christmas for as long as I can remember, and since I’ve lived down here in Texas I’ve taken on making it on my own. Surprisingly, it’s actually a simple recipe. I made a batch to take to Florida with us, and I think it only took -maybe- 15-20 minutes. And the deliciousness is so worth it. I suppose you could throw stuff on top as it cools, like candy cane bits or nuts or sprinkles. But just plain is just fine. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients

  • โ…” c. evaporated milk
  • ยพ c. margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 7oz. jar of marshmallow fluff
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

ingredients

I forgot to get the vanilla in the above shot. Just pretend it’s in there. You will also need a candy thermometer, a 9″ x 13″ pan, and a medium-to-large saucepan.

Directions

  1. Heat milk and margarine until margarine is melted. Add the sugar.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Boil until candy thermometer reaches 234โˆ˜ F.
  3. steps-1-2

  4. Remove from heat and add remaining items. Mix well.
  5. steps-3-4

  6. Pour into greased 9″ x 13″ pan, and let cool completely before cutting/serving.
  7. Bonus: once the saucepan has cooled a bit, take a spoon and scrape the sides of the pan. Eat. Enjoy. ๐Ÿ˜‰
