In case you missed it at the start of the year, one of the things I’ve decided to do with my shops this year is donate a portion of all sales to charities or causes that I support.
Regular blog readers are probably aware of this, but I am a huge bookworm. Curling up and reading a new book is one of my favorite things to do. I love writing, too, and have even attempted November’s NaNoWriMo a few times. The idea that there are adults out there who can’t even read well enough to fill out a job application makes my bookworm heart hurt. Accordingly, the beneficiary for November is ProLiteracy, a group based on the idea that every adult has the right to literacy. They believe that a safer, stronger, and more sustainable society starts with an educated adult population. They develop and promote literacy content and programs to help adult learners, and advocate on their behalf. If you are a fellow bookworm and want to help give the gift of reading to others, you can support the cause by a direct donation on the ProLiteracy site, or by shopping in either of my shops (screen printing or digital) this month.
At the beginning of this month $5 was donated to the October shop charity. Slow month for sales, apparently.
