That’s me being a copycat on the left, and my inspiration on the left (Anna from Mungolife). As part of the Pinterest Challenge, I picked two outfits that I wanted to try my hand at recreating, and this is the first one I tackled. You can see the original pin here. I substituted a big necklace instead of a big scarf, since I didn’t have a scarf that would fit this color scheme and would’ve sweltered in it anyway (it got up to 78 yesterday!). And obviously I had to put my own spin on it with specific item choices. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I think I stayed true to the color scheme and idea, but in my own style. I will say, I love how this necklace looks, but it’s kind of a pain to wear – super jingly and the leaves kept getting turned backwards.
Lifewise, this week I’m doing my normal design work, printing up some things for the shop, and experimenting with bleach pens. It’s also date night (which is every Wednesday, in case that wasn’t obvious by now, haha), but the boy’s turn to pick. Can’t wait to see what he decides on from the dining passport! I’m also excited about meeting this lady over the weekend while we’re in Houston for a wedding. !!! 😀
Do you do copycat outfits from Pinterest at all? Ever done a one-on-one meetup with a blogger you want to be besties with?

That’s an adorable cardigan. I think I like it better than the one in the inspiration picture.
Aw, thanks! I’m polka dot obsessed, so it was a no brainer for me. Also, I don’t have any other navy cardigans, so… haha.
This would be a great idea for me, mimicking another style. I have some outfits on my clothing inspiration Pinterest board that I could do. I just suck at picking out outfits so using them as a guide would be a great idea. I love what you did and I especially love those pants!
Thanks!! That’s why I picked some outfits for my Pinterest challenge, because I have so many looks pinned and was like “I have the stuff to do these, why don’t I actually DO them?” It was a lot of fun, definitely makes me think about my clothes/accessories in new combinations. I’m going to be doing more of them. 😀
Haha, great point! Why not? I think if I can just do that and think of my clothes in different ways I be able to be a bit more “fashion forward.” Right now I stick to my favorite boat-neck sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. 😉
I like yours better… probably because of the polka dots 😉
Thanks!! 😀
Nice necklace! I like that more than the scarf. Also the sweater is really cute too!
Yay, thanks! I liked the necklace more than the scarf, too. Or at least any of the scarves I had – just didn’t look right.
I love the olive/navy color combo – and the polka dots are so much fun!!
Thank you!! 🙂
You did a great recreation. You were inspired and then made it your own. I have a board specifically for looks I want to recreate. I haven’t actually gotten around to doing it though, lol!

Aw, thank you!! I appreciate that. 🙂 I was in the same situation – this was my first time trying to recreate a look! It’s a lot of fun, you should give it a go.
LOVE the olive pants with the navy polka dot sweater! Looking adorable!
xo
Aw, thanks, Katie! 🙂
Love the polka dot cardi!

Thanks!! Me too. 😀
I’m obviously in love with that cardigan, but I have a seriously unhealthy obsession with dots. I cannot WAIT to meet you on Sunday!!
I can’t wait to meet you either!!!! And I’m obsessed too – odds are good of us both showing up in polka dots on Sunday, I think, haha. 😀
I think you nailed it, even without the scarf. Looks super cute & I love your cardi!
Hope it was a good date night. I’m super jealous of your weather. The high here was 34 today. Boo.
Thank you very much!! 🙂
Date night was fun, though I think if we had weather like yours it would be less so since we ate outside! Brrr.
I love re-creating outfits from pinterest! It’s definitely something I do when I’m looking for new ideas. I really love that cardigan too. Polka dots are the best!
This was my first time doing it, but I think I’m hooked now – it’s so fun! And yes, polka dots are the best. 😀
olive and polka dot navy. love this combo!
Thank you!!
So cute. Love that color combo. Thanks for the inspiration to try it 🙂
Thanks! And let me know if you give it a whirl, too – I wanna see! 🙂
I like your version better! Love that cardi!
Aw, thank you!! 😀
Great replication! That’s what Pinterest is for to be pinspired!!!
Thank you! And yes, it is, though I was tardy in making use of it. 🙂 Definitely going to be doing more copycats, they’re fun!
Ummmm cute! And hello you’re my blogger bestie and I’d totally do somersaults in your backyard. I would do a cartwheel, but i never learned how haha!
Thanks!! And I’m laughing out loud, because honestly the first thing I thought was that somersaulting may end badly, as our backyard is Sienna’s bathroom area… yeah. Haha. But I know what you mean! I really hope you guys make it out to Austin this summer!
