Big Blogiversary Book Giveaway!

Big Blogiversary Book Giveaway

Today this little space on the web turns 3 years old. It simultaneously seems like longer and yet not that long. I’ve been through a slight name change and several blog themes. I’ve tried and then abandoned sponsorships and certain topics/series. Writing a blog is a long game of fine tuning your content and your voice and your brand. One of the cornerstones, though, has always been my love of books and stories and reading. And so today, as a giant thank you to my readers and celebration of 3 years on internet air, I’m doing a giant book giveaway. Yay books!

I’m giving away not just one book. Not even just one bundle of books. I’m giving away FIVE different bundles of 5-6 books each! Each bundle has its own theme, and each and every book is one I’ve personally read and enjoyed. And these books are coming straight from my shelves to you, so they are *used* books (though many are in like-new condition). Many of them are part of a series, but if so they are book #1 – none of this starting in the middle nonsense!

The giveaways run from today through noon CST next Sunday (the 8th). They are open to readers in the US only (sorry, guys, international shipping is the pits!). Info on each bundle can be found below. You can enter for any or all of the bundles, but you can only win one. If you win one bundle, but your name is drawn for a second one, I will pick a different winner for that second one. Winners will be notified June 9th via email. They have 48 hours to respond before I’ll pick a new winner for that bundle. Nobody is sponsoring this giveaway and I’m not getting anything out of it other than bookish glee and a bit more space on my bookshelves.

Also, the ‘Tweet about the giveaway’ entry option is the same for all 5 bundles, so if you are entering all 5, you only need to tweet once.

Anyway, enough with the nitty gritty details! On to the fun stuff: the books up for grabs!

Bundle #1 – Sci Fi & Sensitive Tough Guys

A Talent for War (Alex Benedict #1) by Jack McDevitt – one of my favorite sci-fi authors. A space adventure, the far-future story of one man’s quest to discover the truth behind a galactic war hero. My review here.
Flashforward by Robert J. Sawyer – this thriller about a global blackout with visions of the future became a TV series. My review here.
Doomsday Book by Connie Willis – time travel, medieval plagues and hapless Brits. My review here.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman – a classic by a master. Urban fantasy mixed with so many mythologies. Shadow is kind of the ultimate tough guy, so I’m putting it here.
Storm Front (Dresden Files #1) by Jim Butcher – the start of one of my all-time favorite series. Harry Dresden is my wisecracking wizard hero.
The Gypsy by Steven Brust & Megan Lindholm (aka.Robin Hobb) – a joint effort of two of my most favorite ever authors. More urban fantasy.

Bundle #3 – Paranormal & Steampunk

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (#1) by Ransom Riggs – A haunting story of a boarding home for gifted children. Like Professor X’s place, but creepier. My review here.
A Great & Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle #1) by Libba Bray – Young adult series with a blend of witchery, mystery and teenage angst.
Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare – Angels and demons, steampunk and YA romance. What more can you ask for?
Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1) by Gail Carriger – A delightfully absurd romp through steampunk England complete with vampires and werewolves. My review here.
Devices & Desires (Engineer Trilogy #1) by K.J. Parker – Not your traditional steampunk, but definite industrial/robot elements in the gritty epic fantasy.
The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles #1) by Kady Cross – Good ol’ steampunk complete with mystery and a secret investigation team.

The Jane Austen Marriage Manual by Kim Izzo – A modern day writer decides to try her luck at the man-catching methods practiced by Austen’s characters.
Mr. Darcy Presents His Bride by Helen Halstead – a P&P sequel.

Mr. Darcy’s Daughters (Darcy #1) by Elizabeth Aston – a P&P sequel in which Darcy & Elizabeth have 5 daughters of their own. Must run in the family.
Undressing Mr. Darcy by Karen Doornebas – Very little to do with Jane Austen, but a light and easy read with some sexy times.
