Tuesday Treasure Trove

- Well this is the best news I’ve had all week: A Scientific Breakthrough Could Make Your Wine into Hangover-Free Magic.
- Followed immediately by not-good news: A giant ancient virus was just uncovered in melting ice — and it won’t be the last.
- And some depressing-as-f**k charts: Gun violence in America, in 17 maps and charts, and American deaths in terrorism vs. gun violence (hint: gun violence has a higher toll).
- The Cost of Fear-Based Policy.
- The Rise of Victimhood Culture.
- How to Analyze Male Characters in Book Reviews. Spot on.
- How to feel unproductive and worthless in one easy step! Brings up a good point.
Things of Note:
Hey there! Long time no write. I’m typing to you now as a married woman! The crazy hecticness of the wedding and honeymoon are past, and I’m finally getting back into the normal routine of things again. The wedding was amazing! All the planning paid off, as it was beautiful and went (mostly) swimmingly. I get a big smile every time I think about our ceremony and vows. Now I just have to wait, quite impatiently, for a few weeks to get the photos back from the photographers.
I do, however, have honeymoon pictures! A LOT of them. I’m going to try to narrow it down and split them into a few posts to share with you guys.
This week, however, is dedicated to more of the legal name change craziness, and launching my new design biz. Stay tuned!
What have you guys been up to while I was gone? What’d I miss?
True Vintage Fashion: My Grandma
My cousin Erin scanned and posted a bunch of old family photos on Facebook. I had never seen any of these, so it was really cool to look through them - in particular, the ones of my Grandma Lori. I was really young when she died (I think only one or two?), so I don't...
What I Wore: Manic Monday
This past Monday (yesterday) was a bit crazy. I had my normal freelance work to do, chores around the house, errands outside of the house, a last-minute meeting with a client, and a critique group with my fellow writers. I needed something comfortable for the...

Photo Fun
We had a big ol' photo shoot today, as I had some new items to add to the shop and also decided to re-photograph everything else in the shop in the beautiful fall sunshine. My boyfriend helped quite a bit (though he was grumbly when he had to be in front of the camera...
Friday Favorites: Goody Spin Pins
A bit of a preface on this one: I have really fine hair. I don't mean really pretty (though it's not to bad on that score); I mean really thin. So volume is not really a thing that exists naturally for me, and doesn't last long when artificially induced with foam or...
What I Wore #1: Autumn Inspired
I've been blog-stalking a bunch of stylish and craftsy ladies, and several of them do a What I Wore type post occasionally. These posts are always fun to look through, because it gives insight into a person's style and personality, and also I just like seeing the...
Friday Favorites: Leaf Necklace
I am starting a new series here on the blog. Every Friday I'm going to highlight an item that I'm absolutely in love with. It could be anything from a piece of jewelry to shoes to a book to a recipe to a website; I may or may not own said item. I'm just trying to...
