What I Wore: Neutrals Party (Pinterest Challenge)

neutral-copycat

Brown and black together, what?! This is something I usually avoid, but I think if you get the right shade of brown it can work. And when I saw this outfit floating around on Pinterest, I loved it. Black AND brown AND grey AND white? Yes. All ze neutrals, I will vear zem all! (imagine with an accent). So I decided to copycat it as part of my Pinterest challenge. You can see the original pin here.

I had all of the elements except for a good scarf to pull it all together. And then I came across the Etsy shop neckStyles and their Aztec print scarf. Perfect. And uber versatile; I foresee much use out of this scarf. And they have tons of awesome patterns and colors. I may or may not already be planning my next purchase from them.

Overall: a very comfortable outfit, visually and tactilely.

What’s your opinion on wearing black and brown together? Absolute no-no, or only with certain shades?

Hence the sweater, scarf, and me hamming it up like I’m freezing (see below). 🙂 It looks like Austin has finally clued in to the fact that it is fall/winter. Which means all of my sweaters and thermals and such are going to be joining the wardrobe rotation. I am fully on the scarf-as-accessory bandwagon now. They are fun, and even a thin scarf like this helps keep my neck warm. My neck (particularly the back) is one of those places […]

What I Wore: Faux Fall

Just because it’s still 85 degrees here during the day doesn’t mean I can’t sartorially pretend it’s fall. Hence my sweater (though short-sleeved) and scarf (though non-warm-making). This is my first venture into fashion scarf wearing. Prior to this, the only times I’ve worn scarves have been in winter and they’ve been of the thick, fleecy variety. So I’m trying something new. These burgundy/bordeaux jeans are also quasi-new to me, but I think I’ve been firmly established into the colored denim club by now. But overall I really like how this turned out, and definitely plan on more colored […]
