June Foodie Pen Pal Box

This past month I participated in a new-to-me gift swap called Foodie Pen Pals, run by the fabulous Lindsay. It works the same way as a normal gift swap, except that the items being swapped are all edible – fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats. Here is the box I received from my foodie pal, Jennifer.

The box, tantalizingly marked as both fragile and perishable.
My first glimpse of the goodies.

The goodies all laid out.

Contents

  1. Almond Butter. I had never had this before, and wasn’t sure how to eat it/what it goes with, so I just substituted it for things I normally use peanut butter for. Verdict: pretty good, though I still like PB better.
  2. Banana Nut Cupcake Mix. I haven’t had a chance to make these yet, but they look good.
  3. Organic Peanut Butter Cup. This was completely melted, but still tasty.
  4. Freeze-dried Kiwi Bites. I’m not a huge fan of kiwi on a normal basis. I gave these a try (hey, I’ll try anything once) but was not really a fan.

All in all, a very fun experience. 🙂 Thank you, Jennifer, for the package – I got to try some new things!

Go see Molly’s blog to see what I sent her.

Freeze-dried kiwi. Sadly, this goodie did not get along with my taste buds.

AB&J crackers.

I’m incredibly excited about today’s cupcake recipe. Thoughts on Suburbia

I don’t know if you know this, dear readers, but I live in suburbia. To be specific, a 2-story house in a neighborhood full of similar houses in the Austin-suburb of Round Rock (technically a separate city, but for all intents and purposes the greater city’s suburb). I used to live down in Austin proper, renting an apartment, until Ian showed up on the scene back in 2009. At the time we started dating, he already owned the house we both now live in with our puppy. And it’s a great house. My office has its own separate room, which […]

Ester DurĂŁes Go say hi: Blog | Shop | Facebook | Twitter My name is Ester and I am an 19-year-old girl born in France but currently living in Portugal. I decided to start my blog to share my artwork but, being the creative person I am, I immediatly realised that wouldn’t be enough to fullfil my blogger-life. I decided to start sharing a bit more of myself and that’s what defines my blog, ‘Drawing Dreaming’, a mix of my artistic creations with the […]

Tuesday 10: Dream Travels

I’m linking up with Paige for this week’s Tuesday 10, and the theme is Top 10 Places You Want to Travel. Here are my top 10 dream destinations: Ireland. The whole thing, not just one particular spot/city. I’ve had a obsession fixation with the Emerald Isle for as long as I can remember, and have not yet made a journey to its shores. This needs to be remedied ASAP. There’s a reason I’m learning Gaelic. Italy. Particularly Rome and Venice, but again really all of it. I’ve been to Europe a handful of times, but sadly this has not yet […]
