Tuesday Treasure Trove

Tuesday Treasure Trove: this week's round-up of read-worthy links

Things of Note:

It’s pretty standard life-as-usual this week. Work is good, both in amount and type of projects. Social things are happening with friends, date night is tomorrow with the boy. I’m in week 2 of my new chiropractic regimen, so my back is slowly getting fixed. I have been lagging a little bit on shop stuff, but it’s my intent to remedy that this week. We’ll see if it pans out. Ooh, and my new tripod arrived yesterday! So I’ll be back on the What I Wore bandwagon tomorrow. It’s definitely better quality, and has a warranty, so hopefully it suffices for awhile.

Also, since Alyx is busy with very impending motherhood, I’m going to be helping out with the Blogger Book Club for the next few months, so look for the May book poll here soon.

Now, I’m going to go eat lunch, and then head off to afternoon coffee with some GirlfriendCircles ladies.

What are you up to today?

Weekend Recap

Airborne Toxic Event concert

This past weekend was a good weekend. 🙂 I got to meet these lovely ladies at the Austin bloggers meetup on Saturday: Sarah, Beth, Jamie, Jenn, me, Shelley and Lani – and I promise we’re not all evil, despite the glowing eyes. 🙂 I also went to see this movie with the boy: It was pretty decent. Dragged a bit in the beginning, some surprises, some predictability but overall a good time. And then I got to see this very awesome live show with a few friends last night: That’d be the Airborne Toxic Event. Love them and their music, […]

Book Review: Legend

Legend

Legend (Legend #1) by Marie Lu This was the April pick for the Blogger Book Club. It takes place far enough in the future that the United States of America has become nothing more than a legend, and the western part of this continent is under the very strict government control of the Republic. The story alternates between Day (poor boy turned criminal from the wrong side of the plague barrier) and June (the militaristic oligarchy’s bright rising star). It’s pretty standard YA dystopia meets star-crossed lovers. Which is not to say I didn’t enjoy it – I did. But […]

Friday Favorites: Songs

I’ve recently stumbled into Grooveshark, and thought today I’d share some of my favorite songs. This will probably be an ever-changing and constantly updated list. But right now it has some long-time favorites, and some current obsessions. I actually get to see one of these bands this weekend (Airborne Toxic Event)! Have a listen and enjoy. 🙂 Happy weekend! Favorite Songs by Amanda Cobb on Grooveshark Any music recommendations based off of this sample of my music taste? I’m all ears! (har har) 😉

Recipe: Chicken Sausage with Harvest Rice

Chicken Sausage with Harvest Rice Recipe

Today I have an easy and tasty recipe for you. It’s only got 5 ingredients, but packs a pretty tasty punch. And it might get you addicted to Craisins if, like me, you munch on some out of the bag while making dinner. Seriously, I’d never had them before, and now I can’t get enough. WAY better than regular old raisins. Also, I feel like you could easily substitute in something other than squash here, if squash is not your thing. Or another kind of sausage, for that matter. Flexible recipe win!   Chicken Sausage with Harvest Rice   Ingredients […]
