Recipe: BBQ Pulled Pork

BBQ Pulled Pork

I’ve already shared super easy slow cooker tacos, and today it’s time for another unbelievably easy dish. What kind of Texan would I be if I didn’t make something BBQ once in awhile? This BBQ pulled pork is quick to throw together and ridiculously moist. It’s easy to adjust to your own preferred spicy level, based on the BBQ sauce that you pick. And it warms up great as leftovers. Really, a win all around. 🙂

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork

How’s that for easy? Are you a BBQ fan?

Book Review: Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan This is a weird and delightful read. As you might deduce from the name, Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore is not your typical bookstore. Clay, recently unemployed and now the new night clerk, notices something odd: most of the customers he encounters don’t actually buy anything, but instead borrow obscure books from what seems to be an exclusive lending library. And after a few weeks, he realizes there’s a pattern. Charting the pattern and confronting Penumbra leads Clay into a mysterious world of book-loving secret societies, code breakers, ancient typographers, and just possibly the […]

The Dog Days of Summer

This month’s Etsy round-up is all about the pooches. Sienna is currently curled up in a ball right by my feet, doing cute dog snores – not an unusual place for her to be during my work day. She’s been super cuddly lately, and seems healthier & happier since we switched dog food brands. This month’s round-up is inspired by her, and I’m eyeing several of these pieces with her in mind. Edited to add: I just found out today is also National Dog Day – how appropriate! Dog Days of Summer by Dragonflight Dreams Sand Washed Turquoise Native… Miasclosetshop […]

New Look

New Design

I’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front this week, but I have a good reason: I’ve been working on giving Dragonflight Dreams a makeover! If you’re following through a reader, click through to see the fresh new look. I kept a few elements from the old look (the textured paper at the top, the blue accent color, the swirls in the header), but I added some width and spacing for a more open feel. Overall, this will allow for wider images and a less cluttered appearance. And I also added in some purple and polka dots, because I […]

ModCloth is having their big Last Hurrah sale right now, which means lots of things at 70% off. Which is music to my money-saving-loving ears. Here’s what I snagged:     My order already shipped! Can’t wait to try everything on – crossing my fingers that everything fits, since it’s final sale. If not, to Ebay they shall go. Also, the chevron dress and southwestern flats are still available in select sizes as I’m writing this, if they catch your fancy. 😉 If you’ve never purchased from ModCloth before, now is a great time to do it. And if you […]
