What I Wore: Black Floral Skirt

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably heard me gush about my recent sewing classes at StitchLab (if you are in Austin, check them out). And with good reason, because through them I now know how to make a skirt. In fact, I made the skirt in this outfit post!! Lace trim and all, completely done by me. I am PUMPED about this new skill. I’ve already made another skirt (at home – unsupervised!) and have fabric to make a few more. It’s going to be a skirt craze over here for awhile. 😀 Luckily the weather has warmed […]

What I Wore: Olive & Stripes

What? A new actual outfit post?! Try not to be too shocked, even though I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks. I just wasn’t feeling it for awhile, but now I’m back! So, down to business. I have been on a serious olive kick lately (the color, not the food – though I do like eating olives, too). And it’s mostly because of these pants. Guys, I am in love with these pants. And they’re corduroy. I used to hate corduroy when I was younger (just ask my mom). But they fit great, are warm and comfy, […]

What I Wore: Pleated Floral

If you’re in search of fall outfit inspiration, you’re in the wrong place. Clearly we’re still in the grip of summer weather here. Or at least we were this past weekend, when I took these shots. For all I know Austin experienced a cooling spell as soon as I left. And it will probably still be near 90 when I return. I love this skirt. It’s easy to wear, since you can just pick any tone out of the floral print (which is itself a great color palette) and use that on top. And the pleats give it a nice […]

What I Wore: Daydreaming

This month, I will be (sporadically) participating in Blogtember with Jenni. Today’s prompt: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do? If I could take three months off and do anything, with money not being a factor, I would travel. I would travel a LOT. I’d split it up and do 3 weeks in the British Isles (focusing on Ireland & Scotland), 3 weeks in the Mediterranean (Italy & Greece specifically), 3 weeks in Australia, and 3 weeks visiting my family here in the States. I would […]

What I Wore: Floral Twist

There’s something quintessentially summer about a good maxi skirt. This particular skirt has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s from Honey & Lace, which has a bunch of cute options. And no I’m not being paid/compensated to say that, I just think their selection is great (and constantly updated!). I wore this outfit around on Monday, doing house and work-from-home stuff, and then out to the movies with some friends. I just love the print on this one. There’s so many colors in the floral that it’s easy to pair a top with it. And, of course, it’s extremely […]

What I Wore: Walking Garden

Apparently I was feeling floral yesterday. With the jeans, obviously, but also on the shrug which has a subtle burn-out floral pattern. Add the leaf necklace in, and I’m a walking garden. 🙂 Though, I think, a not-in-your-face-with-my-pattern-choices one. I hope. Regardless, I liked the color scheme, and it was comfortable to wear all day. Win win. These pants are tricky to pair things with. Well, maybe I should say, they’re tricky to pair things with in a way that I like. Because I could pair with a coral or green shirt easily, pulling on the colors in the pattern. […]
