Kid at Heart

Proof that I am really just a 5 year old masquerading as an adult: Fruit snacks are an acceptable breakfast food. I still mix up chocolate milk with Hershey’s syrup on a regular basis. My syrup-to-milk ratio is a thing of beauty. Hint: it’s heavy on the chocolate. I love fairytales – old classics, or re-tellings with a twist. Or just anything with faeries. Or magic. If there is a dish of free candy at a restaurant or doctor’s office, I will take a piece with no shame. I still love playing dress-up (though it’s mostly within the confines of […]

What I Wore: Floral Denim

I know. I didn’t think I’d ever be typing the words in that title, either. In my defense, the floral denim in question is more unobtrusive and less eye-sore-y than some out there (in my opinion). These got worn out for brunch, running errands, hanging around the house, screenprinting and cooking some dinner, and they held up nicely just like any non-patterned skinny jeans. I’ve […]

Recipe: Smoked Sausage Rotini

This is a simple, tasty recipe the boy & I have been enjoying lately. I found it in one of my cooking magazines (yes, I get those – two, in fact) and decided to try it out. It doesn’t take long, and it’s yummy even when re-heated as leftovers – two of my criteria for favorite meals. Smoked Sausage Rotini   Ingredients 1 package rotini or other short spiral pasta (16 oz.) 10 oz. fresh spinach* 1 lb. smoked turkey sausage, sliced 8 Tbsp. grated Romano cheese, plus extra for topping if desired 3 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil, divided […]
